Earthbound Map Onett Cross Stitch Project

Earthbound was my favorite childhood game. If you don't know what it is, go here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/EarthBound

This is the piece of cloth for the project. It is about 30" x 30". If I stitch 156 stitches every single day, this project should be done in a year.

Stitch 1 of 56832

The first day's work. 143 stitches. Looks like the project will take over a year at this rate!!

Little owl for my Mom

I've taken up cross stitch!

I've taken up cross stitch and renamed the blog to 42nd Stitch Street.

Here's how I've organized all my stuff!

The box is from hobby lobby. It was half off, so I paid about $20 bucks for it. I'm not sure what it was intended for, but it works!

I had a hard time finding all the yarn I needed for the earthbound Onett project. My local hobby lobby and walmart both carried DMC thread, but not all the colors I needed. I ended up buying all the colors off http://www.123stitch.com/DMC_Six_Strand_Floss.html for 44 cents each, plus shipping.

I couldn't find a cross stitch kit that was really what I wanted. The box is a photo box from hobby lobby. The pattern is on the bottom. Scissors, bobbins with the current colors I'm working with, a mechanical pencil to cross off the stitches from the pattern (thank goodness it's erasable!), a seem reapers for oopses, and a needle box. The needle box is also from hobby lobby. I love that it has a magnetic bottom so the needles don't go anywhere. My needles are size 22, which was recommended from a youtube video. There's a smaller one in there, which came with the Owl project.
